Hi, I'm XIAOHONG XU — MEng Systems Design (Waterloo ’25) & BSc CS (SFU ’24). I’m a Software Development Engineer II (AI/ML) at TD Bank (Layer 6 AI), building agentic developer tooling and self-hosted LLM inference, with a product-minded full-stack background in mobile & web development, AI applications, cloud infrastructure, and SEO optimization. I’ve taken products from zero to launch for startups, most recently BuildMind, an AI job-costing app live on the iOS App Store, and contributed to established teams, building scalable platforms, dashboards, and automated workflows. Beyond code, I operate like a product owner—validating real problems, shaping lean MVPs, aligning stakeholders, and structuring information into scalable, evolving user experiences.

About me

With experience across startups, established companies, and now a bank's AI lab, I specialize in taking products from first commit to production. Since June 2026 I have been a Software Development Engineer II (AI/ML) at TD Bank (Layer 6 AI), building a deployment-repair agent and self-hosted LLM inference on Kubernetes. Before that I led BuildMind, an AI-powered job-costing platform for construction teams, from an empty monorepo to a live iOS App Store release. Earlier work includes a healthcare engagement platform at Axon Health, a warehouse management system at Batchship, legal workflow automation at LeGT.ai, and a global hackathon platform at Hackhub.

As a freelancer and entrepreneur, I have independently developed multiple projects: (1) Sonwly App—a WeChat mini-app and React Native mobile app for ski enthusiasts, (2) ProMatch—an AI-powered recruitment platform where I led a team, (3) a fitness ecosystem platform with calorie tracking and gym/trainer marketplace features, and (4) Website migration and SEO optimization services, helping local businesses migrate from Wix to cost-effective solutions while providing SEO optimization. I'm passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems and always eager to learn new tools and frameworks.
